How to Use Aquaforest Sea Salt
Follow these steps to prepare seawater for your marine aquarium.
Prepare the water: Start with reverse-osmosis/deionized (RODI) water at approximately 24°C (75°F).
Add the salt: For a target salinity of 30 ppt (specific gravity 1.022), add approximately 345 g of Aquaforest Sea Salt to 10 litres of water.
Mix thoroughly: Stir vigorously for approximately 15 minutes, until the salt has completely dissolved and the water becomes clear.
Measure salinity: Use a refractometer to check the salinity before use.
Use the prepared seawater: Once the salt has dissolved and the salinity has been verified, the water is ready for use in your aquarium.
Important: Always verify salinity before adding prepared seawater to your aquarium and follow the requirements of your marine livestock.

How to Use
Prepare the reactor: Assemble the AF Air Scrubber and ensure all components are correctly positioned.
Add suitable media: Fill the reactor with compatible CO₂-absorbing media, such as Aquaforest AF Air Scrubber Media.
Keep the base sponges moist: Remove the reactor base and soak the three internal sponges with RO water. The sponges should remain moist during operation.
Secure the reactor: Close the reactor using the Smart-Twist system.

What Is ICP-OES?
ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry) is a laboratory technique used to analyse the elemental composition of liquid samples such as seawater, brine and other water types.
During analysis, the sample is introduced into a high-temperature plasma. Elements within the sample emit light at characteristic wavelengths, allowing their concentrations to be determined.
According to Aquaforest Lab, its ICP-OES system uses a specialised optical system with horizontal and vertical plasma and covers a wavelength range of 130–770 nm. Aquaforest Lab states that processing of the complete spectral range takes approximately 2 seconds, with elemental analysis possible at a sampling frequency of up to 10 Hz.
