Aquaforest ICP Test 1
Comprehensive ICP-OES Water Analysis for Marine Aquariums & RO Water
Get a detailed picture of your aquarium's water chemistry with the Aquaforest ICP Test 1. This professional ICP-OES water analysis service is designed to thoroughly analyse saltwater from your aquarium and RO water, providing accurate results across 39 parameters, along with salinity, KH and NO₃ measurements.
The kit includes a dedicated test vial, individual sample code and return envelope, making it simple to collect your water sample and send it to the Aquaforest Laboratory for analysis.
ICP-OES testing provides a much more comprehensive overview of water chemistry than individual hobby test kits, allowing you to identify variations in elemental concentrations and make more informed decisions about aquarium maintenance and supplementation.

Benefits of ICP-OES Testing
Comprehensive Water Analysis
Instead of testing individual parameters separately, ICP testing provides a broad overview of your aquarium's elemental composition in a single analysis.
Identify Elemental Imbalances
The analysis can help identify variations in the concentration of numerous elements, giving reef keepers more information when evaluating aquarium water chemistry.
Monitor Reef Aquarium Chemistry
Regular laboratory analysis can be used alongside routine aquarium testing to monitor changes over time and support more informed water-management decisions.
Test Aquarium & RO Water
The service is designed to analyse saltwater from your aquarium as well as RO water, helping you assess both your aquarium environment and source water.
What Is ICP-OES?
ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry) is an analytical technique used to determine the elemental composition of liquid samples, including seawater, brine and other water samples.
During ICP-OES analysis, the sample is introduced into a high-temperature plasma. Elements within the sample emit light at characteristic wavelengths, which can then be measured to determine their concentrations.
According to Aquaforest Lab, its laboratory uses high-resolution ICP-OES spectrometers featuring a specialised optical system with horizontal and vertical plasma. The system covers a wavelength range of 130–770 nm, with the laboratory stating that processing of the entire spectral spectrum takes approximately 2 seconds.
Why Aquaforest Lab?
Aquaforest Lab operates two ICP-OES spectrometers, allowing the laboratory to process samples efficiently and provide aquarium analysis and recommendations after receiving the sample.
The combination of laboratory-grade instrumentation and multi-element analysis provides reef keepers with detailed information that complements routine aquarium test kits.
