Aquaforest ICP Test 2

Description

Aquaforest ICP Test 2

Comprehensive ICP-OES Analysis of Aquarium & RO Water

Get a detailed analysis of your aquarium's water chemistry with the Aquaforest ICP Test 2. This professional ICP-OES testing service is designed to analyse both saltwater from your aquarium and your RO water, allowing you to assess your aquarium water alongside its source water.

The kit contains 2 test vials, an individual sample code and an envelope for sending your samples to the Aquaforest Laboratory. A single ICP-OES analysis provides results for 39 parameters, plus additional measurements for salinity, KH and NO₃.

Testing both aquarium and RO water provides valuable insight into the composition of your source water and aquarium water, helping you better understand changes in water chemistry and make more informed decisions about your reef system.

Benefits of ICP-OES Testing

Analyse Aquarium & RO Water Together

ICP Test 2 allows you to submit both RO water and aquarium water, providing a more complete view of your water chemistry and helping you identify differences between your source water and aquarium system.

Comprehensive Multi-Element Analysis

Instead of relying on individual tests for separate elements, ICP-OES analysis examines a wide range of elements in a single laboratory analysis.

Identify Changes in Water Chemistry

The detailed results can help reef keepers identify variations in elemental concentrations and better understand the chemistry of their aquarium system.

Supports Informed Reef Management

Laboratory analysis can complement your regular aquarium testing routine and provide additional information when managing water quality, supplementation and aquarium maintenance.

What Is ICP-OES?

ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry) is a laboratory technique used to analyse the elemental composition of liquid samples such as seawater, brine and other water types.

During analysis, the sample is introduced into a high-temperature plasma. Elements within the sample emit light at characteristic wavelengths, allowing their concentrations to be determined.

According to Aquaforest Lab, its ICP-OES system uses a specialised optical system with horizontal and vertical plasma and covers a wavelength range of 130–770 nm. Aquaforest Lab states that processing of the complete spectral range takes approximately 2 seconds, with elemental analysis possible at a sampling frequency of up to 10 Hz.

Why Aquaforest Lab?

Aquaforest Lab operates two advanced ICP-OES spectrometers, allowing samples to be processed efficiently and enabling the laboratory to provide aquarium analysis and solutions to aquarists after receiving their samples.

How to Use

1. Prepare the RO Water Vial

Use the RO water intended for analysis to rinse the red test vial twice before collecting the final sample.

2. Prepare the Aquarium Water Vial

Use the aquarium water intended for analysis to rinse the blue test vial twice before collecting the final sample.

3. Collect the Samples

Fill each vial with the appropriate water sample and make sure both vials are tightly closed.

Important: Keep the RO water sample in the red vial and the aquarium water sample in the blue vial.

4. Register Your Samples

Visit the Aquaforest Lab website and sign up or log in. Use the individual vial code supplied with the kit to register your samples.

5. Prepare the Shipment

Fill in the sender details on the enclosed envelope and prepare both samples for shipment.

6. Send the Samples

Mail the samples to the Aquaforest Laboratory using the supplied envelope.

7. Receive Your Results

You will receive an email notification when your results are available. Log in to the Aquaforest Lab website to access your laboratory reports.
