GHL Contactless Optical Level Sensor

Description

GHL Contactless Optical Level Sensor

Description
The GHL Contactless Optical Level Sensor is a point‑level water sensor designed to work with GHL ProfiLux controllers to detect water levels through the aquarium or sump wall without any parts touching the water. This makes it ideal for applications like Auto Top‑Off (ATO) and leak detection where you want reliable detection but minimal components in the water.

Key Features

  • Detects water level through glass or clear acrylic without contact

  • Fits standard GHL level sensor ports on ProfiLux controllers

  • No moving parts — low maintenance and corrosion‑free

  • Simple stick‑on installation on the outside of a tank or reservoir

  • Compatible with ATO and leak detection routines on GHL systems

Benefits
✔ Non‑contact water level sensing protects the sensor from corrosion and buildup
✔ Easy to install on the outside of your aquarium or sump
✔ Works with GHL automation for automatic top‑off and alarms
✔ No electrodes or probes inside the water to worry about
✔ Great for maintaining stable water levels and avoiding spills

How to Use

  1. Clean and dry the outside surface of your aquarium, sump, or reservoir glass.

  2. Stick the sensor on the outside at the height where you want level detection.

  3. Connect the sensor to a level port on your GHL ProfiLux controller via the cable.

  4. Configure the sensor function in the GHL software (e.g., min level for ATO or leak detection).

  5. Monitor status via controller display/app and adjust placement if needed for best performance.

Notes & Tips

  • These sensors work by detecting the change in refractive index when water touches the outside of the glass, so glass with heavy tint or metal content may affect detection.

  • They are best suited for ATO and leak detection but aren’t recommended for automatic water change applications where the glass might remain wet above water level, leading to false triggers.
