When using a bird cuttlefish bone in your aquarium, correct portioning is important to avoid over-hardening the water.
Recommended guideline:
- Use approximately 1–2cm of cuttlefish bone per 20–30 litres of water
- For larger tanks, scale proportionally (e.g. 4–5cm for a 100L tank)
- Break into smaller pieces rather than adding the whole bone
