The recommended magnesium level in reef aquariums is 1180–1460 mg/l (ppm).

How to Prepare the Solution

Dissolve 10g of AquaForest Magnesium in 1000ml of RODI water to prepare the magnesium solution.

Before dosing:

  1. Test your aquarium water to determine the current magnesium level.
  2. Calculate the required dosage based on your water test results and your corals' daily consumption.
  3. Prepare the solution by dissolving 10g of Magnesium in 1000ml of RODI water.
  4. Dose the prepared solution according to your aquarium's requirements.
  5. Regularly test magnesium levels and adjust dosing as needed.

Dosage

100ml of the prepared Magnesium solution added to 100 litres (27 US gal) of aquarium water raises the magnesium level by approximately 1.2 mg/l (ppm).

The dosage should be determined based on water test results and the daily magnesium consumption of your corals.

Do not raise magnesium levels by more than 50 ppm per day.

The recommended magnesium level for reef aquariums is:

1180–1460 mg/l (ppm)

Maintaining Ionic Balance

To help maintain ionic balance within the aquarium, AquaForest KH Buffer and Reef Mineral Salt should also be applied as part of the supplementation system.

Magnesium and Calcium, or Reef Mineral Salt, can be combined together into one solution.

Important Information

Always perform a water test before applying the Magnesium solution to determine your current water parameters and required dosage.

Avoid increasing magnesium levels by more than 50 ppm per day. Regular testing is recommended to ensure stable and balanced reef aquarium conditions.
