AquaForest Iodum 1L
AquaForest Iodum is a concentrated iodine supplement designed to help maintain appropriate iodine levels in marine and reef aquariums.
Iodine is an important element for general cellular function and nutrient transfer within marine organisms. It is continuously consumed by aquarium inhabitants, meaning iodine levels can decline quickly without regular supplementation.
Corals use iodine in the synthesis of pigments that help them adapt to changing lighting conditions and protect delicate coral tissues from UV radiation. Maintaining an appropriate iodine level can also support deeper blue and purple coloration in hard corals and contributes to healthy shrimp molting.
Regular supplementation with AquaForest Iodum helps maintain iodine levels closer to those found in natural seawater.

Recommended Iodine Level
The recommended iodine concentration in marine aquarium water is:
0.055–0.07 mg/l (ppm)
Regular water testing is recommended to monitor iodine levels and determine the appropriate supplementation rate.
Dosage
10ml of AquaForest Iodum per 100 litres (27 US gal) of aquarium water increases the iodine level by approximately 0.1 mg/l (ppm).
Recommended Daily Dose
1ml per 100 litres (27 US gal) of aquarium water daily.
Maximum Daily Dose
Do not exceed 2ml per 100 litres of aquarium water per day.
If a higher dose is required, divide the total required amount across several days.
How to Use
- Test your aquarium water to determine the current iodine level.
- For regular supplementation, dose 1ml per 100 litres daily.
- Monitor iodine levels regularly.
- Adjust the dosage according to your water test results and aquarium requirements.
- If a higher correction is required, divide the dose over several days.
- Never exceed the maximum daily dose of 2ml per 100 litres.
Important Information
Iodine is continuously consumed by marine organisms, so regular monitoring and supplementation may be necessary to maintain stable levels.
Avoid excessive iodine dosing. Always consider current water parameters and aquarium requirements when adjusting supplementation.
