How to Use
- Start with RODI water at approximately 24°C / 75°F.
- For a target salinity of 33 ppt (1.025 S.G.), add approximately 390 g (13.75 oz.) of Hybrid Pro Salt to 10 L (2.7 US gal) of water.
- Stir vigorously for approximately 15 minutes, or until the salt has completely dissolved and the water becomes clear.
- Check the resulting salinity with a refractometer before adding the water to your aquarium.
- Once the salinity has been confirmed, the saltwater is ready for use.
Important Tips
- Keep dKH between 7.5–8.5 to support probiotic bacterial activity. Higher or lower levels may reduce bacterial activity.
- When setting up a new aquarium, AquaForest recommends introducing the first fish or corals no earlier than 10–14 days after the aquarium has been established and water parameters have stabilised.
- After dissolving, freshly prepared saltwater should be used within 3 days.
- Evaporation can alter water parameters. If freshly mixed saltwater is not used immediately, keep it in a tightly closed container.
- If mixed saltwater has been stored for several days, recheck the salinity before use.
Storage
Store Hybrid Pro Salt in a dry, dark place and keep the container properly sealed to protect the salt from moisture and environmental contamination.
Quality Control & Laboratory Testing
Every batch of AquaForest Hybrid Pro Salt undergoes thorough laboratory testing. Samples are taken from each 600 kg batch, dissolved in RODI water, and analysed to verify composition, uniformity, and the absence of undesirable contaminants.
Testing is performed using two individually calibrated ICP-OES spectrometers—one dedicated to micronutrient analysis and the other to macronutrient analysis. Test results for individual batches are made available online.
