AquaForest Borium 200ml
AquaForest Borium is a trace element supplement designed to help maintain the appropriate concentration of boron in reef aquariums. Although boron is present in seawater in relatively low concentrations, it plays an important role in the development and coloration of corals.
Boron participates in calcium metabolism and supports the growth of coralline algae. Maintaining an appropriate boron level can also positively influence coral skeleton development and contribute to more intense coral coloration.
Boron supplementation may increase the production of red phytopigments, helping support stronger yellow, orange, and red coloration in zooxanthellae-containing corals.

Recommended Boron Level
The recommended boron concentration in reef aquarium water is:
4.05–5.00 mg/l (ppm)
For the most accurate supplementation, dosing should be based on ICP-OES test results and your aquarium's individual microelement consumption.
Dosage
Add 20ml of AquaForest Borium per 100 litres (27 US gal) of aquarium water to increase the boron level by approximately 1 mg/l (ppm).
Maximum Daily Dose
Do not exceed 20ml per 100 litres of aquarium water per day.
If a higher dose is required, divide the required amount across several days rather than adding it all at once.
How to Use
- Test your aquarium water to determine the current boron concentration.
- Ideally, use ICP-OES test results to determine the required supplementation.
- Calculate the required dose according to your aquarium volume and microelement consumption.
- Add the appropriate amount of Borium to the aquarium.
- If a higher dose is required, divide it over several days.
- Regularly test your aquarium's water parameters and adjust the dosage as required.
Important Information
Every reef aquarium is different, and the final dosage depends on the coral population, microelement consumption, and individual aquarium requirements.
Both insufficient and excessive levels of micronutrients can negatively affect aquarium inhabitants. For this reason, supplementation should be selected and adjusted based on regular AquaForest Lab water tests, particularly ICP-OES testing.
Avoid exceeding the maximum daily dose of 20ml per 100 litres. If more supplementation is required, spread the dose over multiple days.
